Pink called it a “hateful” way to wish her a happy birthday after one internet troll compared her to Suzy Eddie Izzard.
On September 8, the day of the “So What?” hitmaker’s birthday, a user of X (formerly known as Twitter) posted a message with the caption: “Happy Birthday Pink,” accompanied with a picture of Izzard.
The 44-year-old singer, whose true name is Alecia Beth Moore Hart, used the attempted insult in which a user likened her to the gender fluid comedian and political activist to teach her daughter Willow about online bullying.
“Thank you so much,” Pink wrote in the accompanying caption. “I just showed my 12-year-old daughter your post.”
The ‘Just Give Me A Reason’ vocalist went on to explain that she has “never met” the anonymous user and has “no idea why [they] would go out of your way to be hateful”.
She added that their post taught a “good lesson in ignorance” for her child, Willow Sage Hart, and concluded with: “Thank you. I still don’t know you. Congrats. You’re no one.”
Pink didn’t back down from her reaction, calling the troll a “nameless f**ko” in a subsequent post and asserting that there are actual photos of her on Google that are “worse than [the] picture” of the 61-year-old activist.
After telling OP to “be creative next time,” the ‘Trustfall’ singer went on to explain her reasoning for responding in a subsequent post.
“I post these things to show the kids I know – my own kids as well, that we are all occasionally treated badly,” she penned. “I show them because they know me, and they know that my self-esteem does not rely on the opinions of others.”
Many of Pink’s fans took to the comment section to praise her for calling out the transphobic troll. One user said: “You got to teach the kids right, I respect that.”
Another chimed in: “Pink, you are slayer! I would not write it better,” and a third added: “Thank you for calling out this behavior!!”
The ‘F**kin Perfect’ musician and racer Carey Hart, 48, have been married since 2006 and have two children together: Jameson and Willow.
Pink is renowned for her steadfast advocacy on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community. In a 2012 interview with Advocate, Pink demonstrated her allyship by stating that visibility for gueer youth is essential.
“I think it’s totally important,” she told the publication. “I don’t think every celebrity needs to have [a cause], I just think it’s great when they do.”
The star said when she first moved to Los Angeles she was an “honorary lesbian,” explaining: “I wasn’t gay, but all my girlfriends were. It wasn’t a big deal for me, but when [a tabloid] comes out and says, I just said I was bisexual, it’s like: ‘What? That wasn’t my truth, and I like truth. I like absolute truth.'”

Fans are horrified by a brand-new wax sculpture of the “Thinking Out Loud” star that was recently unveiled in Germany.
The artist Lisa Büscher’s lifelike replica of Sheeran made its public debut at the Panoptikum Museum in Hamburg on July 13th, and it has already gotten a lot of mixed reactions.
The singer is the most recent celebrity to be honoured in wax at the country’s first wax museum, which Friedrich Hermann Faerber built in 1879.
From a fair distance – and by a fair distance, I mean a good distance – the figure seems like a dead ringer for Sheeran.
But upon closer inspection, there are undoubtedly a few discrepancies that will cause you to pause.
The “Shape of You” hitmaker is seen in photos taken of the wax work with his trademark shaggy ginger hair, layered long sleeves, and a t-shirt combo pushed up to show off his tattoos, along with piercing blue eyes that are, if anything, a little soulless.
The waxy Sheeran can also be seen with his right hand curled up in his jean pocket and his left shoulder slung over a Little Martin acoustic guitar.
Both of which hands are covered with stacks of bracelets in his distinctive style.
His general vibe, I will say, is pretty bang on.
People have since taken to Twitter to share their opinions on the wax work with one writing: “Oh hell nah.”
A second penned: “There’s a new Ed Sheeran wax figure in Germany and well……”
A third social media user asked: “Why does it look like Boris Johnson?”
“Why’s Boris Johnson doing an Ed cosplay?” echoed a fourth.
“There is something about that face,” posted another, “that reminds me of someone else, but definitely not Ed.”
A final person added: “Looks accurate but a super shaggy version of him.”
A Berlin-based artist named Büscher acknowledged that the project was “challenging” because of the somewhat finicky nature of the materials utilised to make it.
Working with hot wax probably isn’t as simple as using a canvas and some oil paints, in my opinion.
The 32-year-old’s “many tattoos” were depicted using a “intricate and time-consuming process,” according to the artist.
“Every very tattoo has a special meaning for him,” she added.
The wax work will be positioned the Panoptikum Museum’s ‘British triangle’ which is also home to the likes of a waxy Adele and the late Queen Elizabeth II.
