A Kimberley resident who underwent multiple operations to try to resemble his idol David Beckham is now $14,000 in debt.
Jack Johnson, now 21 years old, spent about £20,000 on a brow lift, veneers for his teeth, fillers for his lips, cheeks, and forehead, as well as tan injections.

The former Ellis Guilford student had borrowed money to pay for the medical care.
He has now opened up about how it affected his life and how he has stopped having medical work.
“I tried to take my own life, because trying to look like Beckham is a full-time job and is not easy,” he told the Daily Mirror.
“Trying to look like Beckham nearly killed me and I don’t want others to make the same mistake.”
Jack, who was born and raised in Bulwell but now resides in Kimberley, paid for the surgery with money from his Disability Living Allowance, loans, and borrowings from his brother.

He is currently having trouble paying off debts of £14,000 and claims to have learned his lesson while stopping all surgical procedures.
Clinics gave him liposuction, botox, and lip fillers for free as he attracted attention, he claimed.
“When I was on This Morning, Holly or Phil asked me if I was happy. I told them I was but really I wasn’t – I was in the worst place ever on the inside.”
Four months ago, Jack claimed, he attempted suicide by taking an excessive amount of pills, but was discovered and transported to the hospital.

As a result of his appointments with a psychiatrist, he discovered that he has body dysmorphia, a mental illness that causes him to constantly obsess about his appearance.
“I obviously don’t blame David Beckham, it’s not his fault,” said Jack. “I was trying desperately to look like him and it nearly cost me my life.
“I feel like I’m in the best place ever now – and I really don’t want anybody to go through what I have.

“Nobody should ever aspire to look like celebrities to that extent, and I’m an example of that. You need to just be yourself.”
Today his older brother Aaron told the Post: “He got a bit carried away and it went a bit crazy for him. It got a bit out of hand.
