Everybody occasionally forgets things.

The occasional reminder to bring your wallet or house keys can be useful, but one man seems to have gone above and beyond.

Gipsyg Tattooer, an Italian tattoo artist, posted a brief but horrifying video to TikTok in which she can be seen pretending to draw some frames on a man’s face.

She shared the now-viral video, which has amassed 14.6 million views in only three days at the time of writing, alongside the caption: “If you always lose your glasses, do like him [and] tattoo them.”

On TikTok, the video did not receive favourable reviews, with the majority of commenters showing signs of mild concern on behalf of the glasses guy.

One user said: “I’m praying this is a joke.”

A second added: “Please tell me this isn’t real. It can not be. Please just say is a joke so I can sleep.”

Another piped up to point out that no matter what you do, there is always someone worse off than you.

They said: “I was crying because I made a mistake cutting my own bangs but then I saw this and I feel relieved.”

While another TikToker commented: “You’ve got to be kidding me.”

Some of the tattoo artist’s fans urged Gipsyg to declare the video was a hoax as others expressed shock over the embarrassing and permanent tattoo reminder.

A few viewers of the video—which has received more than 23.3K comments—applied logic to the situation.

One user commented on the clip: “This has to be fake! His face is not even red from the needle and no gel was applied. It’s definitely a Sharpie or something.”

Another posted: “The needle didn’t touch the skin. It might be a whiteboard pen that is not permanent.”

So, let’s consider that social media myth debunked.

The joke was very much on another man from Wales who did almost exactly the same thing, even if it appears that the case of the Italian glasses tattoo may be a fake.

The Swansea man needed two years of progressive laser treatment to get a tattoo of fake sunglasses off of his face after getting them put there at a stag do.

“I had no memory of getting the tattoo because I had gone out celebrating and it happened when I was drunk,” said the 50-something, who spoke with MailOnline on condition of not being named.

“Waking up the morning after, I thought someone had used a permanent marker on my face. When I first came home, obviously I was subject to a lot of stares, but I kind of got used to the tattoo and decided not to get rid of it.”

The man even included the name Ray-Ban, the sunglasses company and the frames tattooed on his body as a drunken dare . He initially intended to keep his brand-new tattoo, but after someone made fun of him during a night out at the pub, he changed his mind.

“The next morning I really started to think about what my family and friends thought,” he said. “I didn’t want them to be embarrassed when they were out with me, so I decided there and then I was going to get it removed.”

Yikes.

Now we’re really praying Gipsyg’s video is fake.
