This ‘Elf’ Hotel Suite in NYC Is Pure Christmas Magic

vote

Nothing compares to Christmas in New York City, so why not go all out if you’re going to do it? That necessitates reserving this hotel room, which was modelled after the Will Ferrell–starring classic holiday film Elf.

The one-bedroom apartment, announced by holiday resort firm Club Wyndham, has plenty of sugary delights and hundreds of paper snowflakes, along with popcorn garlands, golden ornaments, Buddy’s favourite toys, and golden ornaments. The winter wonderland, which is bookable from December 2 through December 26, also boasts a front door adorned with an elf jacket that leads to a living area decked out in holiday decor.

Visitors are welcomed with a Lite Brite welcome message, jack-in-the-box toys under a tree, a colourful gift-wrapped mural wall (complete with six-inch ribbon curls), and more. In the kitchen, ribbons are used to decorate the cabinets and full-size fridge, which is stocked with the four basic foods of elves: candy, candy canes, candy corn and maple syrup. With foods like spaghetti, marshmallows, chocolate sauce, Pop-Tarts, rolls of cookie dough, and litres of soda, families will have everything they need to make a supper inspired by Buddy the Elf.

The Wyndham Midtown 45 suite is decked out like a Christmas card on steroids with hundreds of paper snowflakes, popcorn garlands, golden decorations, sweet delicacies, a sizable Christmas tree, and a mountain of presents.

The kitchen has everything you need to recreate Buddy’s breakfast spaghetti, including spaghetti, marshmallows, chocolate sauce, Pop-Tarts and rolls of cookie dough. The fridge is filled with candies, candy canes, candy corn and maple syrup.

According to Noah Brodsky, chief brand officer for Wyndham Destinations, “Every detail of this Elf-inspired suite was designed to put families in awe from the moment they walk in. Visiting New York City during the holidays is at the top of many travellers’ bucket list, and Club Wyndham wants to help our owners check that list off in a spectacular way. We think there’s no better way to do it than to get families immersed into Buddy the Elf’s whimsical Christmas world.”

Unfortunately, the suite is booked up, but that shouldn’t stop you from having a jolly time in the city during the holidays, especially with events like the world’s largest lantern festival happening.

Christmas fanatics of The Grinch can now transport to Whoville for Christmas and experience a completely unique stay in the Grinch’s cave!

And the fun is not only in the features, the Grinch’s cave is available to rent for only $20 (£15) per night – cheaper than most of my camping trips.

Adding up to the camping vibe, the listing warns that the cave is in a remote location, so guests will need to take their own food, drink and other supplies.

In addition, Grinch warned, “I like to be alone. Very, very alone. So I chose a cave that’s intentionally a little hard for visitors to get to. Make sure you have a car that’s at least a crossover or larger for the trail leading up Mount Crumpit. A Mini Cooper will NOT work.”

Guests are also advised that the Grinch’s cave does not have TV or wifi, so they may want to take some things to entertain themselves. Although the Grinch has left his chessboard for visitors.
