Emma Watson Leaves Students Stunned As She Begins University

Before beginning her Masters in creative writing at Oxford University, Emma Watson, who played Hermione Granger in Harry Potter, attended the university’s matriculation ceremony.

Emma Watson, the actress of the Harry Potter series, astounded college students when she arrived at Oxford in a black gown to celebrate beginning her Masters degree.

The 33-year-old actress, who originated the role of Hermione Granger in the immensely popular series, appeared thrilled to be attending the matriculation ceremony, which symbolises students’ official entry to the institution, on Saturday at the city’s Sheldonian Theatre.

Emma avoided drawing attention to herself as she socialised with her future students while wearing a long, black gown with a black ribbon and a white shirt. One student stated he was astonished to see the star, who is one of the most well-known actresses in the nation, when he saw her in the crowded auditorium.

Giving his reaction to seeing the actress, he joked: “It was the first time I had seen her in a gown since the Harry Potter movies,” reports MailOnline.

In an interview with the Financial Times in April, Watson revealed her aspirations to pursue a degree in creative writing. It was also revealed that she had started composing poetry and essays on love, friendship, and relationships while the school was under lockdown.

The Sun then provided additional information last month, reporting that the Prada star would study part-time and primarily online. Last month, a source said in a statement:

“The course is for older adults and can be done on a part-time basis, which is perfect for Emma’s schedule. She only has to be on site for four or five days a year because she can do the rest of the course online from home. Because she’s a famous actress, she’ll have a security team looking after her whenever she has classes to go to.”

In the academic year 2011–2012, Emma was an undergraduate at Worcester College in Oxford for one year. At Brown University in Rhode Island, where she earned a degree in English literature and graduated in 2014, she did this.

The actress spoke candidly about her choice to pull away from the spotlight earlier this year, describing how she felt “sad and p**** off” following her meteoric rise to stardom in the Harry Potter series.

When she turned 33 in April, she reflected on the previous year of her life after stepping away from the spotlight. Emma said she had created gin, surfed, started therapy, and started a women’s environmental investment fund during her time away from the world of show business.

In a candid post on Instagram, she said: “I stepped away from my life – I learned to surf (badly), I rode some horses (that went better), I did a lot of therapy (YESS therapy!). “My brother and I figured out how to make a gin using recycled wine grapes!?”

The actress continued: “I felt really sad and really p****d off about a lot of things. I learned more about love and being a woman. It took me three years but I have finally figured out a daily practice and can actually keep it for more than a few days in a row. I burned some things down. I eat green things now!”
