HBO is very hopeful that the series would serve as a pillar of a new streaming plan that HBO’s parent company, Warner Bros. are said to be revealing in the coming weeks. Company bosses are said to have persuaded Rowling to create a new series by company’s CEO David Zaslav and HBO President Casey Bloys, but the contract has yet to be finalised and announced to the world.

Rowling’s books, many of which are larger novels towards the end of the series, would be explored in much, more detail thanks to the series being split into 7 series and would have similar treatment as seen by A Series of Unfortunate Events by Netflix.

When asked previously in an interview about his thoughts on a franchise reboot last year Rupert Grint, the actor who played Ron Weasley, said: ‘I’d love to see ‘Harry Potter’ be adapted into a TV show,. I think it would really work. I’m sure the films will get remade, anyway.’ Could we possible see a cameo from Grint in the future series and from Emma Watson and the main wizard himself, Daniel Radcliffe?

Although excited at the possible news we can’t help feeling disappointed that the series won’t be about the Marauders era or the creation of Hogwarts by the four founders. But who knows…if this series is a hit then maybe there will be more magic yet to come from HBO in the Wizarding World franchise!
