NEW HARRY POTTER SEVEN SEASON REMAKE IS IN THE WORKS AT HBO

Can you believe it’s been 12 years since the last Harry Potter film was released in cinemas around the world and yet some fans, both new to the series and long term watchers are still discovering new details about the Wizarding World series.

HARRY POTTER: THE CURSED CHILD REPORTEDLY IN THE WORKS WITH DANIEL RADCLIFFE, EMMA WATSON, RUPERT GRINT RETURNING

Adapting huge, chunky novels such as the Harry Potter books into movies (each around two and a half hours) sadly meant that not EVERY detail could be captured in the cinematic series. However fans have always complained that some huge points were missed, whole storyline were let go and disregarded and many characters were erased from the story entirely to reduce screen time.

While fans who have read the books before watching the series on the big screen could fill in the missing details, those who hadn’t read the books were left confused at some aspects of the films with plot points being alluded to but not fully explained.

DANIEL RADCLIFFE’S ‘HARRY POTTER’ STUNT DOUBLE WAS LEFT PARALYSED AFTER ACCIDENT ON SET

One of the most frustrating examples that fans are only just realising about now takes place in Deathly Hallows Part 1 between Harry’s ex Defence Against the Dark Arts Teacher, Remus Lupin and a member of Dumbledore’s Army Nymphadora Tonks. While the script does allow audiences the knowledge that the couple get married it’s fails to mention one very important plot point!

“By the way, wait until you hear the news! Remus and I are-“

What is the news you might be asking. Well what is alluded to but never actually confirmed in the films is that Tonks is actually pregnant with her and Remus’s baby boy who goes on to become an orphan when they sadly die in the battle of Hogwarts.
From the epilogue in the books we find out that Teddy Lupin (named afters Tonk’s dad) is a metamorphmagus just like his mum and went on to live with Tonk’s mother while Harry becomes his godfather and plays a very present role in his upbringing.

HARRY POTTER’S WIZARDING WORLD: AN INSIDER’S GUIDE

The knowledge that Tonks and Lupin decide to participate in the battle of Hogwarts to help protect the Wizarding World and their son’s future adds to the horror of their deaths and allows viewers to feel an increased level of sadness. But for those who hadn’t read the books….you would never know! It doesn’t diminish just how sad their deaths are but it does diminish how much of a sacrifice it is for them be participating in the Wizarding War.

Now we know that some details had to be missed out and some plot points had to be changed but this feels like something they really SHOULD have included! While we do love the films and the way they bring the story of the Wizarding World to the big screen we can’t help feeling that vital parts were missed….and that there’s plenty more where that came from which we will save for future articles! But with the news that HBO are creating a TV show of the Potter series we can only hope they include EVERYTHING from the books that the films missed out!
