The bug forced the Meta-owned firm to quickly produce a patch to fix the problem.

A representative for Meta told The Daily Beast ‘We fixed a bug related to a recent app update that caused some Facebook friend requests to be sent mistakenly. We’ve stopped this from happening and we apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused’

To see any pending friend requests, go to the “Friend Requests” tab on the left-hand side of the page and choose “View send requests.” There might be a few you didn’t know you even had!

This is not the first time that Facebook has caused issues for it’s users but they continue to return to the app!
