McDonald’s has some very good news for its adult customers.
Earlier this week, the fast-food giant announced that their iconic Happy Meals would be available in adult sizes.
According to The Independent, the limited edition menu item will be available in US stores on Monday (October 3), as part of McDonald’s collaboration with fashion streetwear brand Cactus Plant Flea Market.
The meal, dubbed the ‘Cactus Plant Flea Market Box,’ contains everything you’d expect from an iconic Happy Meal for kids. Customers can order a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNugget meal, which includes fries and a drink.
In true Happy Meal fashion, the meal includes a collectible toy, one of four fun figurines dubbed “the Hamburglar,” “Grimace,” “Birdie,” and “Cactus Buddy.”
Meanwhile, it wouldn’t be a happy meal unless it came in a brightly coloured cardboard box. The adult meal packaging has been redesigned to include Cactus Plant Flea Market’s designs and logo, as well as handles shaped like McDonald’s iconic golden arches.
Adults who want to relive their childhood and get their hands on the limited edition Happy Meal will be pleased to learn that it will be available in the restaurant, at the drive-thru, or on the McDonald’s app beginning next week, while supplies last.
Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, described the menu item as “reigniting a new generation’s love.”
“We’re literally repackaging one of the most nostalgic McDonald’s experiences in a new way that’s hyper-relevant for our adult fan,” he explained, adding, “I can’t wait to give fans a unique piece of art and culture as we dive headfirst into the dynamic world of Cactus Plant Flea Market together next week.”
“With menu favorites like the Big Mac and McNuggets at the center of this collab, this is another way we’re reigniting a new generation’s love for our food and the brand,” Hassan added.
McDonald’s collaboration with Cactus Plant Flea Market will include exclusive merchandise in addition to the adult Happy Meal. This will include t-shirts and a chair and will be available for purchase online alongside the box next week.
