Following an altercation at HMP Wakefield in West Yorkshire, the paedophile suffered injuries that are not life-threatening.
He was reportedly kidnapped by three other prisoners on Saturday morning and released by guards six hours later.

A spokesperson for the Prison Service stated that ‘Police are investigating an incident which took place on Saturday at HMP Wakefield.
We are unable to comment further while the police investigate.’
Following his admission of 13 sex charges, including the attempted rape of a fan’s infant, Watkins was given a sentence in December 2013.
In addition, he covertly stored child pornography movies, some of which he had created himself, and pushed another fan to molest her own child through a webcam session.
He was at the time referred to by authorities as a “committed, organised paedophile.”
Watkins, who gained renown with the rock band Lostprophets, was detained in September 2012 when his Pontypridd residence was raided as part of a narcotics warrant.
A judge stated the singer’s offences “plumbed new depths of depravity” when he was convicted at Cardiff Crown Court and informed him he would be serving an extended term.
Watkins will be imprisoned for the first two-thirds of the sentence before being let go. His licence will be valid for an extra six years.
