Believe it or not, the current series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here is actually the 21st series, meaning the show has been on our screens for decades. Over that time, there have been some brilliant contestants – some good at challenges, and some just good for our entertainment! As this season comes to an end, join us as we look back at everyone crowned King or Queen of the Jungle.
2020 – Giovanna Fletcher
Known For: being an author, actress, blogger, and wife to Tom Fletcher from McFly
Runners up: Jordan North and Vernon Kay
Hopefully you remember this one at least, seeing as it was only last year! Giovanna was a warm personality in the camp, looking after her campmates in the first ever Welsh castle version of the show.
2019 – Jacqueline Jossa
Known for: playing Lauren Branning in Eastenders
Runners up: Andy Whyment and Roman Kemp
In a year of mega stars such as Caitlyn Jenner and Ian Wright, Jacqueline Jossa reigned victorious. Whilst she bravely faced bugs in the jungle, there were many rumours circulating about her relationship with Towie star Dan Osborne.
2018 – Harry Redknapp
Known for: being a football manager
Runners up: Emily Atack and John Barrowman
One of the most iconic personalities the show has ever seen, Harry Redknapp stormed through the 18th series of I’m A Celeb, making many a reference to his beloved wife Sandra and his favourite food Jam Roly Poly.
2017 – Georgia Toffolo
Known for: starring in reality show Made in Chelsea
Runners up: Jamie Lomas and Iain Lee
A positive influence in the camp, Toff won I’m A Celeb by proving that even posh girls can survive in the jungle.
2016 – Scarlett Moffatt
Known for: starring on Gogglebox
Runners up: Joel Dommett and Adam Thomas
Scarlett Moffatt boosted her fame status with a stint in the I’m A Celeb jungle, showing the nation her hilarious personality like they’d never seen it before.
2015 – Vicky Pattison
Known for: being on reality show Geordie Shore
Runners up: George Shelley and Ferne Mcann
Why Aye pet! Vicky Pattison proved she’s more than just a party animal when she entered the celebrity jungle and took the crown.
2014 – Carl Foggarty
Known for: super bike racing
Runners up: Jake Quickenden and Melanie Sykes
A real underdog, Foggy embodied Tarzan to take full reign over the jungle, winning the most votes in the 14th series of the show.
2013 – Kian Egan
Known for: being a member of boyband Westlife
Runners Up: David Emanuel and Lucy Pargeter
Quickly becoming a favourite to win, Kian charmed UK audiences during his time in the jungle.
2012 – Charlie Brooks
Known for: playing Janine Butcher in Eastenders
Runners up: Ashley Roberts and David Haye
Dropping the villain act that the public knew her for in the TV soap world, Charlie Brooks got to show her sweet nature within camp, earning herself the title of Queen of the Jungle.
2011 – Dougie Poynter
Known for: being a member of band McFly
Runners up: Mark Wright and Fatima Whitbread
In undoubtedly one of the most iconic I’m A Celeb seasons ever, Dougie shone a little brighter than the rest of the stars, stealing the crown for himself.
2010 – Stacey Solomon
Known for: becoming a finalist on the X-Factor
Runners up: Shaun Ryder and Jenny Eclair
The jungle is where Stacey Solomon won all our hearts and became the nation’s sweetheart, showing off her kind and genuine personality.
2009- Gino D’Acampo
Known for: being a chef
Runners up: Kim Woodburn and Jimmy White
Just like Stacey, Gino became a national treasure thanks to his appearance in the jungle. An extra shoutout needs to be given to 2009’s 2nd place winner, iconic UK Hun Kim Woodburn.
2008 – Joe Swash
Known for: playing Mickey Miller in Eastenders
Runners up: Martina Navratilova and George Takei
Before becoming the face of I’m a Celeb’s spin-off ITV2 show, cheeky chap Joe Swash made a name for himself in the jungle. You must remember him gagging excessively during the eating trial!
2007 – Christopher Biggins
Known for: being a comedy actor, TV host and panto veteran
Runners up: Janice Dickinson and Jason Brown
Larger than life personality Biggins was brilliant in the jungle, doing what he does best by having everyone in stitches.
2006 – Matt Willis
Known for: being in band Busted
Runners up: Myleene Klass and Jason Donovan
Popular with the public, Matt Willis took on the jungle fearlessly, and emerged victorious with the crown.
2005 – Carol Thatcher
Known for: being a journalist and daughter of Margaret Thatcher
Runners up: Sheree Murphy and Sid Owen
Though her ex-Prime Minister mother may not have tuned in to the show, Carol Thatcher still succeeded in winning I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here.
2004 – Joe Pasquale
Known for: being a comedian
Runners up: Paul Burrell and Fran Cosgrave
Being both the hero of the series and the funny guy in camp, Joe Pasquale unsurprisingly took the crown in 2004.
2003 – Kerry Katona
Known for: being in girlband Atomic Kitten
Runners up: Jennie Bond and Peter Andre
The first ever Queen of the Jungle, Kerry Katona proved that she really is tough stuff.
2002 – Phil Tufnell
Known for: playing professional Cricket
Runners up: John Fashanu and Linda Barker
After finishing up his sporting career, Phil Tufnell was thrown into the Australian jungle for one more win.
2001 – Tony Blackburn
Known for: being a radio host
Runners up: Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and Christine Hamilton
A true gentleman, Tony Blackburn charmed the nation when he became I’m A Celeb’s first ever winner.
