NEW HARRY POTTER SEVEN SEASON REMAKE IS IN THE WORKS AT HBO
It’s the hit musical based on the series by Frank L Baum that has been adored by theatre goers for over 20 years and now it’s getting the movie blockbuster treatment with leads Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.
Only a few days ago official pictures were released of Grande as Glinda the Good witch, and her co-star Cynthia Erivo, who will be performing the role of Elphaba originally made famous respectively by musical icons Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel. These images have given us our first glimpse at what to expect from the film expected to drop 2024.

Set photos offered a closer look at Grande in her Glinda costume while she was filming on the UK set in Buckinghamshire.
The magnificent village set was made with cottages that had brightly coloured thatched roofs embellished with flowers to replicate the style of Munchinkinland from the original Wizard of Oz movie.

The well-known yellow brick road wound its way through the town, passing by the spot where Ariana and the townspeople had gathered and a large Wicked witch poster was also placed on the side of a cottage.
The little town was built on farmland in the village of Ivinghoe in east Buckinghamshire, as seen in aerial photographs of the set, which showed the scope of the enormous production.

Originally scheduled for release on Christmas Day in 2024, Wicked Part 1 will now hit theatres on November 27, 2024. The second Part will follow on December 25, 2025.
