A person who took a “one in a million” photo has used social media to soothe viewers who were alarmed by what they were seeing.

Gavin Best took this photo while enjoying the view while out on a walk in Cavehill, Belfast.

On its own, the image is amazing because it catches the gorgeous scenery and the lighting as it cascaded into the cliffside in just the right way.

But following closer examination, Best found something that surprised him.

A man jumping on a clifftop with his arms and legs spread apart was seen by several keen observers.

But you might be wondering, what’s the big deal?

Many individuals are familiar with the method of taking photos by jumping into the air.

However, it appears that Best accomplished this by mistake and at a considerable distance.

Perhaps photo bomb history was made from the greatest distance.

Further zooming in reveals that the background subject is, in fact, perfectly suspended from the ground.

Talk about perfect timing, eh?

However, other individuals worried about the safety of the man in the distance as a result of the shot.

One user tweeted: “Was he trying to jump off the cliff?!”

Another said: “Did they jump, or were they pushed?”

And someone else said: “Is that person landing or taking off?”

Admittedly, with a estimated 368m height, jumping off would be a cause for concern.

However, Best tried to reassure people that all was well at the scenic spot.

He tweeted: “In response to the handful of suggestions that the person might’ve been jumping *off* the cliff, can I reassure you that the next couple of photos, taken moments later, showed 2 or 3 people up there.”

Responding to another concerned person, he reiterated again: “Don’t worry – the next couple of photos showed people up there.”

I bet he didn’t anticipate that response when he first uploaded the snap.

Best first shared the picture on Twitter back in 2018, writing: “Took this photo a few days ago. Just spotted something in the distance and zoomed in. How’s that for coincidental timing?”

The photo was taken on top of Cavehill which Gavin described as ‘quite a yomp’ to get to.

Even yet, it seems very obvious that the climb to the summit would be well worth it with those views being so near to the city.

And in fact, as the man in the background indicates, it’s also cause for celebration.
