You Can Now Stay In The Cottage From The Holiday

Finally, the Big Day is in less than a week, and Christmas in the UK is in full swing. We’re referring to the sparkling lights that line each street. We’re talking mulled wine on the couch under a blanket. And without a doubt, we’re referring to repeatedly watching The Holiday.

The good news is that you can now book the real-life cottage from the movie on Airbnb if you’ve seen every classic Christmas romcom and want to be the envy of practically every one of your friends.

The movie’s producers visited Honeysuckle Cottage in Holmbury St Mary, Surrey, before they started filming, and immediately picked it as one of the key filming locations (they had been looking for the ‘cutest, smallest, most English cottage’ they could find, obviously).

The actual cottage was too far from the London cast and crew, so they painstakingly rebuilt it for the movie and gave it the name Rosehill Cottage. Couple Jon and Cressida Bromley purchased the property for £625,000 much later, in 2019, but they were unaware that it was the one from the movie. It was fortunate that they eventually became aware of it after reading about it in a real estate magazine because fans of The Holiday frequently knock on their door to take a look.

As of right now, they are charging about £295 per night to rent Honeysuckle Cottage on Airbnb. The house has a large inglenook fireplace with a log burner, exposed beams, and low ceilings. There is also underfloor heating.
