Kevin Petty, the husband of Nicki Minaj, reportedly received a sentence of “one year house arrest” and “five years probation.”

The 44-year-old, who moved to Los Angeles with the rapper in 2019, allegedly did not register as a s** offender within the allotted five days.

According to reports, Petty was sentenced and fined $55,000 by the US Attorney’s Office.

TMZ reported, it was argued that because he would be doing this time at his and Minaj’s Calabasas house, home detention didn’t constitute a significant punishment.

Evidently, in addition to the five years of probation, the US Attorney’s Office requested a 15-month prison term.

According to reports, Petty declared that there were “no excuses” for failing to register before to being sentenced.

It’s believed he stated: “I take full responsibility for whatever happens today.

“I’m ashamed, embarrassed and disrespected my wife’s brand. There are no excuses, I broke the law. I thank you for giving me the chance to speak, to apologise.”

The singer’s spouse was convicted of attempted r*** of a 16-year-old girl in New York back in 1995. He served four years for the crime.

In 2006, Petty then pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. However, he ended up serving seven years.

So far, Minaj and her husband have yet to comment on the sentencing.

Over the years, the mum-of-one has defended her partner.

In 2018, she apparently took to social media and wrote: “He was 15, she was 16… in a relationship. But go awf [off], internet, y’all can’t run my life. Y’all can’t even run y’all own life.”

She’s also branded Wendy Williams ‘demonic’ for discussing Petty and his history on her talk show.
