Bette Midler has used transgender persons in other places to draw attention to the abortion situation in the United States.

Macy Gray has weighed in on the transgender discussion, asserting that having “boobs” and a “vagina” at birth is a requirement for being a woman.

The 54-year-old American singer made the contentious statements during a Piers Morgan Uncensored interview last night.

According to Piers, public personalities frequently avoid speaking openly about the divisive subject of transgender rights for fear of retaliation.

Gray nodded in agreement, calling a woman “a human being with boobs,” adding, “How about you start there,” and concluding, “And a vagina.”

“I support all trans rights to justice and equality,” Piers remarked while speaking about transgender women in sports.
However, he went on to say that he wasn’t in favour of transgender athletes have “physically superior bodies” and dominate other female athletes in their sports.

If you want me to refer to you as a “her,” I will do so because that is what you want, but just because I do so and just because you had surgery doesn’t make you a woman, Macy responded.

You’re not a lady just because you go alter your bits, she said.

She also backed JK Rowling, a writer who has come under fire for her strong opinions on transgender rights.

Because you disagree, I don’t believe you should be labelled transphobic, she said.

“There is a lot of judgement and throwing stones at people for just saying what it is. Do you know what I mean?”

She continued by saying that being a woman demands much more than just medical treatments.

Gray claimed that becoming a woman required more than just medical operations.

A woman goes through a completely unique experience and surgery and finding oneself doesn’t change that, she said.
