The explosion in Pennsylvania killed five people, including Casey Clontz, 38, and his 12-year-old son Keegan. Three other adults also died in the explosion, and have not yet been named by police.

While 57 firefighters were also treated for injuries after responding to the call, a sixth individual was also gravely hurt in the incident.

A doorbell cameras video of the explosion, which was powerful enough to shake the porch and topple a sign even from that distance, shows how the quiet street was shaken.

According to reports, Keegan and Casey were nearby the house when it exploded, and their family has since paid them homage following their awful and premature deaths.

“Keegan and Casey were happiest when they were at the lake with their lake family and friends,” they claimed. They enjoyed boating, swimming, and driving their golf cart around.

“Keegan and Casey will be missed by so many people and will continue to be loved by so many people, including their family, friends, and community.”

Pictures taken soon after the incident reveal how little of the house is still there. The source of the explosion is currently the subject of an investigation.

Peoples Gas, who supplied the gas to the building, is now investigating the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate tragedy and has confirmed that one of its employees arrived at the explosion site within 15 minutes.

President of Peoples Gas Mike Huwar told WTAE: “We immediately began checks in the area for leakages, including smell checks and testing for gas underground and in the air.

“We also verified consistent pressure at tour regulation stations. At this point we can share that our system was operating as designed.”

Josh Shapiro, the governor of Pennsylvania, wrote: “Lori and I are praying for the loved ones, friends, and neighbours who lost someone in Plum yesterday. We are also thankful for the first responders who rushed into danger to save lives. Today, we are thinking about the five Pennsylvanians who passed away and their families. May we be blessed by our memories of them.

Officials from Allegheny County have stated that it may take months to complete the inquiry into the explosion’s cause.

On August 12, at 10.30 am, a blast occurred that also caused damage to about a dozen residences and the destruction of at least two more.
