This week, a Polish woman’s claims gained notoriety when she opened the Instagram account @iammadeleinemcann which has since gone viral.
She claimed that after hearing “something” from her granny, she began to wonder if she was Maddie “a few months ago.”
Although being 21 years old, the young woman thinks her age might be off. Maddie was born in May 2003, making her age as of right now 19 years old.
But, German investigators think Christian Brueckner killed Maddie, who vanished in 2007 while on a family vacation in Portugal. Sadly the child’s body has never been discovered despite intensive searches and numerous police inquiries over the years and is a mystery that remains unsolved.
The Polish woman is so eager to have a DNA test because she wants to establish her identity as Maddie that she has publicly asked for help.
I think I can be Madeleine,” reads her Instagram bio on a profile that has racked up more than 600,000 followers. I need a DNA test.

The woman even claimed in a post that she spoke with someone claiming to be Madeleine’s cousin, who informed her she would “have a possibility” to contact Kate and Gerry McCann to set up a DNA test. However the family of Madeleine have not publicly commented on this.
The claimants Instagram profile can be found below in which she has images of videos of the similarities between her and Madeleine and comparisons between herself and Kate and Gerry McCann.
The Polish woman has responded to questions from some followers by stating that she does not recall being taken away and has no memory of the majority of her upbringing.
She commented: “I don’t remember being taken away. I mean, I don’t remember almost my entire childhood.”
