The newest addition to the franchise is happening!
This year we were treated to Scream VI which saw some Ghost Face stalking and murdering some poor innocent victims in New York City and it appears that it won’t be the last film in the slasher franchise!
It has been revealed that Christopher Landon, who directed Happy Death Day, is presently working on the seventh installment of the Scream franchise.

The thriller and comedy-horror films Happy Death Day, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, Happy Death Day 2U, Freaky, and We Have a Ghost are among Christopher Landon’s best recognised works as a writer and director. He contributed to the Paranormal Activity franchise’s scripts as well.
The cast is led by Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera who play sisters Tara and Sam carpenter. Supposedly the sisters have yet to sign on for Scream 7 but are expected to do so once the Hollywood strikes come to an end.
Landon will make his Scream franchise debut with Scream 7, replacing Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who directed Scream 5 in 2022 and Scream VI this year.

According to reports, along with Chad Villella, Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett will still be involved with Scream 7, but only as executive producers. Before their work on an original horror picture for Universal Pictures was put on hold because of the ongoing writers’ and actors’ strike in Hollywood, Bettinelli-Olpion and Gillett allegedly left Scream 7.
Gale Weather’s actress Courtney Cox has appeared in all the Scream films but it is unclear if she will return. Her character definitely felt the full force of Ghostface in the latest instalment but we have it confirmed she is still alive so she could definitely make her return!
It is also unclear if Neve Campbell will return to the franchise after disputes around her payment for appearing in Scream 6 however we would LOVE to see her return to Scream 7 and reprise her role of Cindy Prescott. It’s just not quite the same without her!
