Perry spent 10 years on the beloved sitcom where he played the character of Chandler Bing who famously gets with Courtney Cox’s character Monica during the series.

During the series the character, who is best friends with Joey, settles down with Monica and they end the series buying a house out of the city.

However while Chandler and his onscreen pals were having a great time Perry was privately struggling with substance abuse behind the scenes of the famous show.

Perry explained the rationale behind why he never goes back and revisits his Chandler performance last year when promoting his biography ‘Friends, Lovers, And The Big Terrible Thing’.

FILM FANS ARE SERIOUSLY GROSSED OUT BY THIS HIDDEN DETAIL IN SHREK

I could tell season by season by how I looked. That’s why I don’t wanna watch it, because that’s what I see.’

Perry says he had an initial drinking problem when he started that show that slowly escalated into drugs over the years and in 2018, it nearly cost the actor his life.

But in a more positive ending Perry has been sober since 2021 and publicly encourages people to talk about their addictions with their a counsellor, their families, or even their friends.

Actress Quinta Brunson Calls Out Friends For Having ‘No Black Characters’

Quinta Brunson, the talented comedian and actress best known for her role in the Emmy-nominated series Abbott Elementary, recently took a bold stand by pointing out the conspicuous absence of Black characters in the beloved TV series Friends.

Brunson, who at 33 years old has made a significant mark in the entertainment industry, joined the prestigious ranks of celebrities who have had the honor of hosting Saturday Night Live (SNL). During her memorable SNL appearance, she didn’t miss the chance to humorously call out the iconic 90s sitcom.

In her engaging opening monologue, Brunson playfully reminisced about her aspirations to become a part of the SNL family in the past. She candidly shared how the audition process seemed lengthy and challenging. Instead of persevering through that process, she opted for a different route – creating her very own television show. Her ingenuity and talent led to the show’s remarkable popularity and a collection of coveted Emmy awards, ultimately resulting in her being invited to host SNL. With a touch of humor, she quipped, “So much easier, so much easier.”

But the comedic brilliance didn’t stop there. Brunson went on to offer a glimpse into the premise of her show, Abbott Elementary, where she cleverly juxtaposed it with Friends. While Friends famously revolved around a group of pals in New York, Abbott Elementary centers on a group of dedicated teachers in Philadelphia. However, the key distinction lies in the diversity of Abbott Elementary, which proudly features Black characters, a stark contrast to Friends’ predominantly non-white actors in smaller roles.

This critique of Friends is part of a broader conversation about representation in the entertainment industry. Friends has faced scrutiny in recent times for its limited inclusion of non-white actors, primarily in minor roles. Marta Kauffman, one of the co-creators of Friends, addressed this criticism during an interview with the Los Angeles Times. She candidly acknowledged her own journey of learning and self-reflection, expressing her embarrassment at not recognizing the issue earlier and acknowledging her own role in perpetuating systemic racism. As a step toward making amends, Kauffman committed to donating a substantial sum of $4 million (£3.2 million) to establish an endowed chair for the African and African American studies department at her alma mater.

However, not everyone associated with Friends shares the same perspective. Lisa Kudrow, renowned for her portrayal of Phoebe in the show, defended Kauffman and her co-creator David Crane during an interview with The Daily Beast. Kudrow argued that Friends was essentially a product of its creators’ experiences, primarily two individuals who attended Brandeis University and drew inspiration from their post-college lives. She suggested that delving into experiences related to people of color wasn’t within their purview.

Jennifer Aniston, another iconic figure from the Friends cast, added her perspective to the ongoing discussion. She noted that there is a new generation of viewers who now find the show “offensive” due to its lack of diversity and nuanced representation.

In conclusion, Quinta Brunson’s witty commentary during her SNL appearance has reignited a dialogue about representation in the entertainment industry, specifically addressing the issue of diversity in iconic shows like Friends. This discourse underscores the importance of inclusivity and the evolving expectations of viewers in today’s world.

You Can Now Buy ‘Friends’ Monopoly And Could We Be Any More Excited?

‘Friends’ fans have had it good. Between the recent return of the show to Netflix and the news that the gang is getting back together for the most anticipated reunion since Rachel got off the plane, there’s never been a better time to obsess over the world’s favorite sitcom.

But, beyond buying an HBO subscription and breathlessly sitting staring at your TV, frustrated Friends fans now have an awesome way to pass the time before the reboot. Anyone who can’t wait to get their fix can now while away the hours with the best boardgame since Joey and Chandler won Monica’s apartment.

Friends Monopoly is here. Could we be any more excited?

Just as in the traditional game, players must race around the board, exchanging money with the bank and each other to own certain squares and ultimately bankrupt each other as they spin on the remorseless capitalist hamster wheel.

But, where Monopoly might traditionally revolve around property, the Friends version is much less corporate.

Instead of Mayfair, Whitechapel and Regent Street, players can now bid for iconic moments from the show, such as “Monica Gets a Roommate”, “Ross’ Teeth”, “All the Thanksgivings”, and “Phoebe Gets Married”. One of the “Taxes” has also been replaced with a “Central Perk Tab” and players can also trade for sofas and coffee cups from the iconic hangout.

The fun doesn’t stop with the property. New game pieces include Monica’s chef hat, Ross’s dinosaur, Chandler’s sweater vest, Rachel’s handbag, Phoebe’s guitar, or Joey’s pizza. If the prospect of bouncing around the board as a pewter tyrannosaurus rex doesn’t get you up for a game, nothing will.

The alternative version of the classic board game is currently available on Amazon for just $24.99, so there’s never been a better time to show the Friends fan in your life how much you care. Trust us – the only thing better is a ready-made moist maker.

Film Fans Are Just Realising The Fountain In Friends Is In Another Famous Movie

This is something none of us spotted!

One thing unites viewers of two 90s classics: the fantasy comedy Hocus Pocus and Friends, one of the most well-known comedies ever. Water feature!

In the days leading up to Halloween, everyone has been thinking about Hocus Pocus. Some viewers have noted that the fountain had an uncanny similarity. It turns out that the fountain appeared on screen for the first time in the 1993 horror film, which was released more than a year before Friends.

Even though it seems unlikely that the fountain would materialise, there will be a Hocus Pocus reunion on Halloween Eve, 30 October, to support the New York restoration project. Sigh.

But in the movie Hocus Pocus, which stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as a trio of witches, the fountain only makes a brief appearance. The young characters of the movie, Max, Dani, and Allison, can be seen celebrating what they think is the witches’ defeat.

The opening credits of Friends contain the “big scene” for the fountain. As Chandler, Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, and Joey play around in the now-famous fountain, viewers of the sitcom have been singing along to the Rembrandts’ I’ll Be There For You for more than 25 years.

Twitter was in shock after the revelation came to light. One user said “I’m not going to be the same”.

Many potential parallels between the movie Hocus Pocus and other Halloween movies have been found by fans of the movie. After binge-watching the first three Halloweentown films, TikToker @lyssalyssalyssahh presented her hypothesis that Hocus Pocus and the Halloweentown tale are connected.

She discovered a character in Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge wearing a cloak that is uncannily identical to one worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in Hocus Pocus towards the film’s conclusion.

How did this improbable crossover occur? On the Warner Bros. set in Los Angeles, scenes from both Friends and Hocus Pocus were shot.

Could this indicate that the fountain has covertly made an appearance in further Warner Bros. classics?
