Due to Bette Midler’s ‘anti-trans’ remark, Hocus Pocus fans have threatened to ‘boycott’ the next sequel.

The 76-year-old is receiving criticism on social media after she claimed that on July 4, women are being “erased.”

One person, furious, tweeted: “Bette. Be not a TERF. Don’t force us to abstain from Hocus Pocus 2.

“Great, now I have to avoid Hocus Pocus 2 because Bette Midler is a TERF,” said another.

A third person said, “If Bette Midler doesn’t apologise for her TERF bulls***, it’s time to boycott Hocus Pocus 2.”

A fourth joined in, complaining, “Oh god, are we going to have to boycott Hocus Pocus 2… Because Pitching in, a fourth fumed: “Oh damn, are we going to have to boycott Hocus Pocus 2… This one millennial bright spot in years of drab fascist bulls, because Bette f***ing Midler is going full TERF? What the actual f*** 2022.”

Another person referred to Roe v. Wade and added, “Bette Midler, trans people aren’t the reason abortion is illegal. What about the young girl, age 10, who had to fly to Indiana to have an abortion? She’s not a female.

“Including everyone who is capable of becoming pregnant does not reduce your womanhood, and for you to assert otherwise is utterly ludicrous.”

Everything began when the actress posted on Twitter, saying: “Women of the world. Our rights to our bodies, our lives, and even our names are being taken away from us.

We are no longer referred to as “women” but rather as “birthing individuals,” “menstruators,” or even “those with vaginas.”

“Avoid letting them remove you. Everyone on Earth owes you something.

The cinema release date for Hocus Pocus 2 is set for September 30. Along with Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, Midler will reprise her part as one of the three Sanderson Sisters in the upcoming film.
