The Wicked Movie was set for release next year but has hit setbacks.
After Hollywood came to a standstill due to the actors’ strike, the set of the upcoming Wicked movie featuring Ariana Grande was destroyed with 10 days left of filming putting the film in jeopardy.
Due to the the transatlantic SAG-AFTRA actors’ strike, pictures show the set in the UK’s Ivinghoe Village being dismantled.
After the film industry’s biggest names came together and stopped working last month, the set in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, featuring odd, colourful, thatch-roofed cottages, sat empty for weeks when the film should have been in full production.

We previously showcased images of the set with actor Ariana Grande in costume as the good witch Glinda surrounded by her extras and cast mates but due to the strike things came to a halt.
The set has been disassembled weeks after the new adaptations filming on set was suspended due to strikes, despite earlier reports that the production had “only 10 days left of filming.”
Images show several large containers packed with construction waste and trash, and tipper trucks can be seen heading away from the location.

As the fictitious dwellings were demolished, cranes and other vehicles also filled the set, leaving a wide area of muddy terrain behind.
There looked to be manufacturing tents erected all around the imagined hamlet, but they are now all empty due to the early shutdown caused by the strikes.
The Munchkin Country yellow brick road from the movie was observed coated in dust and rumbling while the set was being taken down.
It comes after only last month Cynthia Erivo was seen on set in the famous Elphaba costume sporting green body paint which is infamous with the character.
While fans will have to wait longer for the Wicked film to now become a finalised project they can still hold out hope that the wait will be worth it and this will be a film they don’t want to miss!
