Harry Potter Star Miriam Margolyes Forced To Undergo Major Heart Surgery

She had no choice but to undergo major surgery!

Watch Our Video Of The Week

The 82-year-old Harry Potter star has worked in the entertainment industry for 60 years, appearing in films including Romeo + Juliet and Babe.

Through the course of her career, she has garnered a great deal of accolades and honours, including a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in Martin Scorsese’s The Age of Innocence.

Following a significant procedure, Margolyes has finally given her followers a health update.

The Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) operation was disclosed by the Mulan actress on the Table Manners podcast with Jessie and Lennie Ware.

According to the British Heart Foundation, this is a common procedure that improves the blood flow in your heart by replacing an aortic valve that doesn’t open fully.

For patients who couldn’t undergo open heart surgery, it was initially utilised as an alternative to heart valve surgery.

Research indicates that it is at least as effective as heart valve surgery after a year, thus it is being utilised for patients who are at lesser risk of heart surgery complications.

Speaking on the podcast, Margolyes explained: “I’ve got a cow’s heart now. Well, not the whole heart. I’ve had an aortic valve replaced by a cow’s aortic valve.”

Margoyles responded that she had “never heard” of the procedure but that it saved her from having open heart surgery, which she claims would be “infinitely more invasive,” when Jessie questioned how prevalent the procedure is.

The presenter was then given a breakdown of the procedure by Margoyles.

The Little Shop Of Horrors actress said: “They made two little holes in your groin. One in each groin and then they shoved this thing through.

“And I don’t know how they pull it up but they sort of pull it up with stereos. And then when it comes to the point, when it’s in your heart, they pull a little string and it goes pow!

“And lo and behold, your artery or your aortic valve is shoved unceremoniously to the side.”

Margoyles first discussed the practise when she was the cover star for British Vogue and posed nude for the publication.

Margolyes revealed that she had a “unexpected issue” and had been sent to the hospital in the interview with the publication.

She said that in order to continue working, she would need to have a heart stent inserted.

In other parts of the conversation, the Blackadder actress discussed death and said that while she used to fear it, she now won’t let it stop her from experiencing “new experiences.”

“When you’re young, you never think about death. You just think about your next f*** basically. I think about death a lot,” Margolyes remarked on the matter.

“You can’t help but be aware that the amount of time ahead is less than the time before you.

“I’m still ducking and diving. I’m still open to new experiences. I’m just very conscious that there is no light at the end of the tunnel.”

Harry Potter Extra Says Dumbledore ‘Spat In Her Face’ In Scene Which Was Cut From Movie

Dumbledore did WHAT?!

A Harry Potter extra shared her “career highlights” on TikTok, including the late Michael Gambon unintentionally spitting in her face.

Eight films in the wizarding series, which are based on J.K. Rowling’s best-selling books, have reportedly produced $7.7 billion worldwide.

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint were propelled to fame by the franchise, and over time, they have been transparent about their experiences on set.

Social media has allowed us to learn more about the experiences of the movie extras, and one former child star’s anecdotes have gone viral.

Samantha Clinch took to TikTok the day before Gambon passed away and, ironically, talked about the time she filmed a cut scene with the late actor.

Elouise Midgen, a student at Hogwarts, was subsequently cast in the part after being initially cast as an extra.

Clinch alleged that Gambon ‘spat in her face’ during the filming of the fourth movie of the Harry Potter films, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

The fact that Gambon was standing close to her and delivering an emotional line made it clear that the occurrence happened by accident.

Goblet of Fire there’s a moment where Dumbledore needs to announce that the dementors are coming and obviously this is absolutely terrifying, terrifying news for everyone involved,” Clinch recalled.

“But… Dumbledore being Dumbledore, there’s a lot, a lot at stake for him… Anyway, he comes over to the table that I’m at and puts his hand on my shoulder, looks at me directly in the face and said, ‘The dementors are coming!’”

Clinch explained that at this moment, the unfortunate incident happened – but she added that she now looks back at it fondly.

She added: “Quite literally frothing at the mouth… there was spit everywhere. I might have got it in my eye. Dumbledore spat in my eyes.”

The former child star then joked that Dumbledore may have had ‘one too many butterbeers’, commenting: “Good times. A career highlight, I’d say.”

The renowned actor passed away at the age of 82 just a day after Clinch talked about her cut scene with Gambon.

A statement on behalf of his wife Anne Miller and son Fergus Gambon read: “We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon.

“Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside, following a bout of pneumonia.

“We ask that you respect our privacy at this painful time and thank you for your messages of support and love.”
