According to a recent report, one of the series regulars on Netflix’s Wednesday will not reprise his role in Season 2 due to controversy.

Lead actress Jenna Ortega said that the upcoming second season of Wednesday on Netflix will be “bigger and better and after becoming Netflix’s most watched show it’s really no surprise.

While the show’s second season’s narrative and release date are still a secret, an unforeseen occurrence has occurred that precludes one cast member from returning.

After being accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a party in Toronto in January 2023, Wednesday actor Percy Hynes White, who played Xavier Thorpe in Season 1, was “written out” of the show’s second season, according to the Daily Mail UK.

Although Netflix has not yet made an official remark, the Daily Mail said that a person close to his family has confirmed the information.

Netflix asserts that no decision has been made about casting as a result of the current strikes plaguing Hollywood.

Both actors and authors Hynes White and his parents have categorically refuted the claims, with Hynes White calling them a “campaign of misinformation” in an impassioned Instagram post from June.

Xavier Thorpe, played by Percy Hynes White in Season 1, was charged with being the demon who terrorised Nevermore Academy. His prospects of a possible romance with Wednesday were diminished by this charge.

However, as it became clear that Tyler was the genuine bad guy, his charges were dropped. At the conclusion of the season, Wednesday and Xavier made up which did give fans a resolution although it was hinted he would appear in the following season.

While it may be frustrating for fans to not see this character as part of the story it doesn’t mean that Season 2 won’t still be a brilliant show and we can’t wait to return to Nevermore and the world around Wednesday and the Addams family!
