After being the filming location of six blockbuster films and the Amazon prime series ‘The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime’ New Zealand’s reputation as the real-life Middle-earth endures and YOU can visit! After being used for the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit the original sets remain for visitors to see an explore and they look beautiful.

Visitors may stop at Bag End, stroll through hobbit-sized vegetable fields, and celebrate Bilbo’s 111th birthday at the Green Dragon Inn with a Southfarthing beer and a dance (if you want!)

Dedicated movie enthusiasts might also visit Wellington’s Wt Workshop, where you can learn about the props, costuming, and some of the many practical effects used in the series. You can even enjoy hands-on workshops in sculpting, leatherwork, or horrific makeup…it’s certainly a day out!
