The Sorting Hat, a magical hat used at Hogwarts to assign pupils to one of the four houses, was played by Phillips.

According to The Mirror, Phillip’s death on Monday came after a protracted illness. The actor has already overcome two strokes.

Phillip’s wife, Zara, has paid tribute to her late husband.

I’ve lost a fantastic spouse, and the public has lost a truly terrific showman, she remarked, according to The Sun.

Simply put, he was a national treasure. Everyone adored him. Everywhere he went, there was a mob.
When we got married, he played the press by insisting that I was the new Zara Phillips and a descendant of the Queen.

Third child of a working-class family, Phillips was born in April 1924.

He reportedly attended stage school after his mother sent him there to get rid of his Cockney accent.
