One of the most popular shows to launch on the streaming platform in 2022 was The Addams Family spinoff.

According to Indiewire, since going live on the streaming service, 115 million individuals have watched it for a whopping 752.52 million hours.

Although it hasn’t been formally declared, supporters think Wednesday will return for a second season.

Where viewers may watch the comic horror, though, is not quite apparent.

Despite being available to watch on Netflix, the programme was created by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM).

The rights to Wednesday might be included in MGM’s $8.5 billion (£7.06 billion) merger agreement with Amazon, according to Deadline.

In order for the popular show to stream on the business’s own service, Prime Video.

Amazon has added that it does not intend to make all MGM material available only through Prime Video, though.

The show’s creators, Al Gough and Miles Milar, have publicly discussed a second season and what viewers may anticipate, even though it hasn’t been officially confirmed.

There are still many storylines to investigate after the first series’ events, according to Gough, who spoke to The Hollywood Reporter.

He clarified: “We wanna sort of explore and sort of complicate all of those relationships going forward.

“The school was closed when they left, which gave us the most possibilities for season two, and I think that’s something that we’re excited to explore.”

He said: “The other thing that’s really interesting is to continue to explore the Wednesday-Morticia mother-daughter relationship as well, which now that Morticia knows about the power, it has given her sort of an idea of how that’s going to go.

“How is their relationship going to evolve?”

While Jenna Ortega – who plays the lead role – has also suggested ideas she would liked for her character in future seasons.

In an interview with Pride, the 20-year-old stated she might be able to envision Wednesday and her roommate Enid Sinclair getting together romantically (Emma Myers).

She said: “In a perfect world, we would have been a thing.”

While in a chat with Elite Daily, Myers also discussed the possibility.

She said: “You know what I always say: ‘And they were roommates’.

“Jenna and I would say that all the time to each other.

“And that’s all that needs to be said – I think that gets the message across.”
