We’ve had the original Disney’s Peter Pan, we’ve had Hooked starring Robin Williams, Peter Pan (2003), Pan (2015) and most recently Peter and Wendy. But now there could be a new addition!

Disney was said to be working on a solo Tinker Bell movie dubbed ‘Tink’ before the most recent Disney+ Peter Pan and Wendy movie, with Reese Witherspoon (famous for roles such as Walk the Line, The Morning show and Elle Woods in Legally Blonde) in line to play the attention-seeking pixie and the sidekick to our hero Peter!

Since there haven’t been any recent developments, it was widely believed that plans had been put on hold permanently for this instalment of the Peter Pan story.

However, a recent internet rumour claims that the project is still in production and that Disney may be considering a huge A-list celebrity for the lead part.

The House of the famous Mouse wants the Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence to portray Tink, claims dependable insider Daniel Richtman.

Richtman provides few further specifics, although does say that Witherspoon is still engaged in the project as a producer and could end up playing a different role in the film than the titular character.

The script was reportedly planned to be written by Maria Melnik who wrote Escape Room and American Gods, but there’s a chance Disney will start again with a new creative team.

Though concrete plot details remain a mystery, an unofficial story breakdown did appear online a few years ago via DisInsider.

It read ‘After Peter becomes gravely injured, Tink makes a deal with the head fairy (named Variel Tarin) to save his life. This results in Peter staying a 9-year-old forever, and Tink losing her voice. The story doesn’t end there, though. After Peter meets Wendy, Tink becomes incredibly jealous. However, when Hook kidnaps Peter she and Wendy must team up to save him before it’s too late

The latest iteration from Disney saw the actress Yara Shahidi as the magical fairy which many fans praised for adding diversity to the series while others were unsatisfied with the casting choice.

While we have seen many animated versions of Tinkerbell getting her own adventures it could be exciting to see an actress play the character in a live action movie.

Whether this casting rumour of Jennifer Lawrence turns out to be true we shall see however it would be exciting to see a her play the fairy and to have a whole film dedicated to our favourite fairy and her tale of potentially meeting Peter and saving his life!
