After portraying Kevin McCallister in the 1990 holiday hit ‘Home Alone‘ and the protagonist in ‘My Girl’, Macaulay Culkin, 42, rose to stardom in Hollywood but the well-known actor has chosen to alter his name!
The former child star still has a huge following of devoted admirers today, who he keeps informed about his life on social media and many didn’t know he had indeed changed his name.

At birth, Culkin received the middle name Carson, which was reputedly inspired by American Old West pioneer Kit Carson.
But that has now changed since he ran a poll on his website where followers could choose his new name.

The actor said ‘I asked you all to send in some better options so I can go down to the courthouse and explain to a judge why I need to change my middle name to something cool. You sent in hundreds of suggestions and after going through them all, these were my favourite five’
The names chosen were:
1 – Macaulay Culkin
2 – Shark Week
3 – Kieran
4 – TheMcRibIsBack
5 – Publicity Stunt
After more than 100,000 votes were counted the winner was the name that scored 61,000 votes. What was it?….Macaulay Culkin.
So he is now known by his legal name, Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin…
Well at least it’s not as bad as being called ‘Macaulay TheMcRibIsBack Culkin’!
