The highly known legal dispute between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp will be resolved, she announced on Instagram, adding that it has “destroyed her life.”

After their turbulent marriage ended in 2017, the 36-year-old actress and her ex-husband Depp have engaged in a number of contentious legal battles.

Both parties were embroiled in a contentious legal dispute earlier this year after Depp, 59, sued Heard for defamation, claiming that she had wrongly depicted him as an abusive spouse in an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018.

Depp has most recently been in the headlines for granting the dying wish of an 11 year old fan. The young boy believes this Christmas will be his last and his one wish was to be able to speak with Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp’s character in the Disney franchise – Pirates of the Caribbean).

In June, after nearly a month of testimony and expert witness, the judge decided in Depp’s favour and gave him a $15 million damage judgement. Heard was given $2 million after she prevailed in one of her counterclaims against her ex-husband.

Heard decided to appeal her loss on November 23 in the Los Angeles Appellate Court, claiming that the trial had been tainted by a number of mistakes, including that Heard had been illegally prevented from presenting some pieces of evidence, according to CNN.

Now, the Aquaman actress and mom-of-one has revealed that she will be settling the case, and is therefore no longer seeking an appeal.

In her Instagram statement, Heard wrote to her 5.3 million followers:

Following her now-famous trial with Depp, Heard is said to have been residing in Mallorca, Spain, with her kid. Locals in the small village where she resides have reportedly characterised her as “extremely courteous” and “doesn’t annoy anyone,” according to a report from The Daily Mail.
