Disney+ is using its best weapons in the streaming wars, but we, the audience, are the ones who end up as winners – new titles include Marvel’s Hawkeye, Y: The Last Man, American Horror Story, The Beatles Documentary and more.
On top of slowly removing its catalogue from Netflix, Disney+ is launching original films and shows at a dizzying pace – to watch everything they are releasing, you would have to make watching TV into a full-time job. Challenge accepted.
November releases include new episodes of Y: The Last Man, American Dad, American Horror Story and Hawkeye plus an exclusive documentary series about The Beatles plus new content arriving on Disney+ Day.
Whereas some high and mighty may accuse the streaming service of cheapening the film industry and “insidiously chang(ing) films into formulaic franchise fare”, we are here for it.
Nothing beats good escapism; some people escape through rants about marvel films in national pubs, others prefer watching said films with utmost delight.
Whatever side of the coin you are, Disney+ is probably where we will all meet again in a few years, when it takes over Netflix.
