A recently released horror film has proven to be so gruesome that people in the theatre are passing out and vomiting.
Terrifier 2 is a sequel to the original Terrifier film, which was released in theatres in 2018. It told the story of Art the Clown, who on Halloween stalked and terrorised three young women.
Unfortunately for another young woman and her younger brother, the murderous clown reappears in the sequel, resurrected by a sinister being.
Terrifier 2 had a $250,000 budget, which was significantly higher than the original’s $35,000 budget. According to Forbes, the splatter film has already made over $1.2 million at the box office since its release last week, knocking Top Gun: Maverick out of the top ten.
After the first film was panned for its poor plot, director Damien Leone spent months working on the sequel’s script, according to Halloween Daily News, earning the new film positive reviews. In fact, Rotten Tomatoes has given it a 91% audience rating, with a 90% critic rating.
“With excellent lead performances, a ghoulish new character, and plenty of gory fun, it is great to see Art the Clown back,” wrote one Horror Geek Life critic.
